About Kava

Kava Tea is a tea that is one of the most common drinks in Hawaii, Polynesia, Micronesia, and Vanuatu. Kava, which comes from a type of pepper plant, is used by many people for insomnia or anxiety. Kava has components which are known as kavalactones. The belief is that the kavalactones have an effect on how high the levels of neurotransmitters in the blood are. It has been proven that kava does have an effect on gamma amino butyric acid, dopamine, and norepinephrine. Kava is very good for its calming effects when you are under stress. It can also help you to get a good night’s sleep.

Some people have found that giving Kava Tea to children that are prone to hyperactivity, helps to keep them calmed down more effectively than prescription medications. Kava has also been found to relieve the symptoms in menopausal women. In some cases, it is also used as a treatment for urinary tract infections and is helpful in treating asthma attacks. Kava can also be helpful for patients having withdrawal symptoms after taking benzodiazepines for anxiety problems. Some people that have chronic back pain recommend it to alleviate the pain. Although there have been previous reports of people having liver damage from drinking the tea, this has been refuted since the cause was one irresponsible manufacturer.

One of the important benefits of Kava Tea is that the tea works on patients with anxiety in a similar way that valium works, but without the adverse side effects. It has been helpful in pain management for its anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. In some countries including Polynesia, the tea is served much more than alcohol for social occasions. The herb, which is available in a capsule form, has been used in Polynesia for hundreds of years. The capsules can be opened and the powder used for a relaxing tea.

In the South Pacific islands, Kava Tea is always part of special celebrations including weddings and holidays, festivals, and one of the more unusual uses is for ceremonies in the South Pacific islands where people honor their dead relatives. Although some pharmaceutical companies have tried to dispute the safety of the herb, it has never been proven to cause any harm in people who use it on a regular basis. In the islands, people commonly drink the tea when they have finished work for the day, the way people in the west commonly have an alcoholic beverage after work.

About Kratom

Native to Southeast Asia, kratom is a tropical deciduous tree that is widely used throughout the region for medicinal purposes. The scientific name of this evergreen tree is Mitragyna speciosa, and it has had a very interesting history, including being banned in Thailand (despite being indigenous there), as it was a natural substitute for opium, thereby affecting the economy of the country. It does have many morphine-like effects, but that isn’t where the benefits of kratom leaves ends. Also, there is no addictive quality of kratom leaves, which is very valuable given some of its long-term applications for human health.

The majority of the health benefits of kratom leaves are derived from the unique chemical compounds and nutrients found within the leaves of the plant, including a wide range of alkaloids and other organic substances that affect many of the organ systems of the human body. The plant’s leaves are widely chewed in countries where the tree grows naturally, and some high estimates suggest that up to 70% of the male population of Thailand chew anywhere from 10-60 leaves each day. The calming, soothing effects, as well as the undeniable health benefits of the leaves, are clearly positive in nature, which is what causes such a controversy. Essentially, kratom leaves are a substitute for opium, a highly addictive and dangerous drug, yet these leaves are seen as perfectly harmless, as regular as having a snack between meals. Now, let’s take a closer look at some of the fascinating health benefits of kratom leaves.
